Our client is a reputable company that deals in high-quality medical equipment and services and requires the services of a COMPANY LAWYER. As a Company Lawyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring legal compliance and safeguarding the company’s interests. You will provide expert legal advice and support in various aspects of our business operations, with a focus on contracts, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and risk management. Your expertise and guidance will help us navigate complex legal issues in the medical equipment industry. The role shall report to the office of Chief Operations Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including vendor agreements, licensing agreements, and service contracts.
  • Ensure contracts comply with legal requirements and align with the company’s objectives.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with local and international laws and regulations pertaining to the medical equipment business sector.
  • Advise on compliance matters related to healthcare laws, data privacy, and industry standards.
  • Manage and protect the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
  • Conduct due diligence on intellectual property matters in mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.
  • Manage and oversee any legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, or alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Collaborate with external counsel when necessary.
  • Provide legal guidance on corporate governance matters, including board meetings, shareholder agreements, and regulatory filings.
  • Identify and assess legal risks and provide proactive advice to mitigate potential liabilities.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to minimize legal exposure.
  • Stay updated on legal developments, precedents, and industry trends relevant to the medical equipment sector.
  • Conduct research and provide timely legal analysis on various issues.


Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities: The Candidate Must Have:

  • A Licensed Practicing Lawyer with a track record and knowledge in Company law/ Contract law
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare and medical equipment regulations.
  • Proven track record in contract negotiation and drafting.
  • Experience with intellectual property matters and government regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and execute all legal issues timely.
  • Active license to practice law in Ghana.
