This role is vital in delivering high-quality emergency care and
training staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Summary: The job holder will provide the full scope of primary care services including but
not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care, and health maintenance to assigned patient groups at the Hospital. The job holder is responsible for the training of staff in the recognition of deterioration, resuscitation technique, attendance at cardiac arrest and other medical emergencies, and involvement in the recommendations for equipment and processes to deal with such emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive primary care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care for assigned patient groups
• Conduct physical examinations, develop treatment plans, and evaluate treatment effectiveness
• Participate in hospital rounds, consultations, and health education to empower patients in their healthcare decisions
• Attend and support clinical peri/cardiac arrest calls
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and patient confidentiality
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of patient clinical records
• Supervise staff and provide performance assessments
• Lead and implement high-quality resuscitation and clinical simulation training
• Collaborate with medical teams to enhance education and reduce serious incidents related to patient deterioration
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
• Doctor of Medicine degree (MBCHB) with a valid Registration and License to practice
• Membership in the Medical and Dental Council of Ghana or a recognised professional body
• Minimum of five (5) years post-specialisation experience
• Strong team player with exceptional communication and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain attention to detail
• Extensive knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of speciality
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with professional staff, local officials, and the public
