Our client, a leading healthcare provider committed to delivering top-notch medical care, is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and skilled Nursing Unit Manager (Emergency) to join their dynamic medical team. This role plays a pivotal role in managing the operational, clinical, and financial aspects of the unit.
Job Summary: As the Nursing Unit Manager for the emergency unit, you will be responsible for
the 24-hour management of the Emergency Unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality
patient care. You will lead a team of dedicated nursing professionals, oversee the unit’s human
and financial resources, and ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and
standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Recruit, orient, schedule, and mentor nursing staff. Monitor job performance, enforce policies, and support continuing education for staff and trainees
• Develop and manage the unit’s budget, analyse variances, and implement systems to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency
• Lead the delivery of evidence-based patient care, ensure adherence to quality and safety standards, and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain open communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high levels of satisfaction and resolve any complaints
• Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare acts and regulations, advocate for patient rights, and implement nursing protocols and procedures
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
• Degree/Diploma in Nursing; Post-graduate Diploma in Nursing Management and/or Nursing Education is an advantage
• Minimum of 5 years of proven leadership and management experience in a healthcare environment, preferably in private healthcare
• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana
• Strong understanding of healthcare legislation, nursing regulations, and legal requirements within the private hospital sector
• Computer literacy and familiarity with resourcing models within the broader healthcare industry
