Job Summary: As a Senior Biomedical Engineer of the hospital, you will play a crucial role in
managing complex projects from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with regulatory
standards and maintaining the highest quality of service. You will work closely with crossfunctional teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to ongoing research and innovative
initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and development of innovative medical devices and technologies
• Oversee engineering specifications, drawings, and documentation
• Ensure compliance with Health Technology Management (HTM) strategies and regulatory standards.
• Commission and approve new medical equipment by conducting tests and ensuring adherence to codes
• Maintain biomedical equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance
• Provide training to healthcare staff on the safe use of medical devices
• Manage equipment inventories and analyse trends in equipment performance and costs
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field; a PhD is a plus.
• 5-10 years of experience in biomedical engineering, with a focus on medical device development
• Proficiency in biomedical imaging, signal processing, and data analysis
• Strong knowledge of biocompatibility, materials science, and software development (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
• Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills
• Familiarity with Infection Prevention and Control Principles
• Good conceptual and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects
